​MISSION or ROLE:

To represent and support multicultural communities in Hawke Bay through:

• Facilitating connectedness between communities
• Creating cultural awareness and understanding
• Celebrating cultural diversity
• Advocating on ethnic issues

MCA’s role is varied and, in brief, is to:

• Be an umbrella organisation for multicultural groups and individuals
• Act as the “Go to” agency for Local Government agencies on ethnic issues
• Provide a central point of contact for migrants and multicultural activities
• Serve the varied needs of the multi-cultural community in HB
• Act as a conduit for the dissemination of information
• Provide a vehicle for the celebration of a variety of cultures and of ethnic diversity
• Build networks and facilitate networking between multicultural communities
• Help integrate ethic communities into society
